Winter Vacation 2024: Rajasthan Schools To Remain Close Until Jan 13; Delhi Institutes To Reopen On Jan 8

In Uttar Pradesh, the winter vacation for classes 1 to 8 is extended until January 13.

According to the notification issued by the Board of Secondary Education, Ajmer, schools from classes 1 to 8 have been closed until January 13, 2024.

The northern belt of India is facing severe cold and states like Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Rajasthan have witnessed dense fog, making transportation difficult for the citizens. The Indian Meteorological Department has warned of the possible health impacts on the people due to low temperatures. This has led the authorities to extend the winter vacation for students in the states. According to the orders so far in most of the states, the schools have remained shut until January 6, 2024. As per the notifications, the schools were supposed to reopen on January 8. However, with the increased cold waves and dense fog, Rajasthan Education Board has decided to extend the winter vacation to January 13. The classes from 1 to 8 will remain closed during this period in the state.

Considering the weather conditions in the state, Rajasthan Board has issued an order to extend the winter holidays. According to the notification issued by the Board of Secondary Education, Ajmer, schools from classes 1 to 8 have been closed till January 13, 2024. This instruction is for all the schools in the state. The leaves are for students only. The teachers have to visit the school for teaching and departmental activities. This new order has been passed for Class 1 to 8 students only. The Delhi government has, however, not provided any extensions in the winter holidays for the schools of Delhi. The winter vacation in Delhi will end on January 06, 2024. However, if the temperature falls or the fog increases in Delhi, then the winter vacation in Delhi can be extended.

According to the order by the Uttar Pradesh government, the winter vacation for classes 1 to 8 has been extended until January 13. The schools will be reopened on January 15. In many places, including Lucknow, the timings of the schools have been changed due to winter. The classes from 9 to 12 will function from 9 am to 3 pm during the winter. The winter vacation in Uttar Pradesh can be extended if the weather conditions do not subside. The Haryana government has also announced the closure of all government and private schools till January 15.
